The strap should be firm around your ribcage so that you can run two fingers under the band (so that you can breathe and move!) Check to ensure the wires sit flat between your breasts and aren't being pushed away from your body. (No wires digging in!) Make sure that the wires sit flat at the front under the breasts so that it sits on your ribcage.
Your breasts should be enclosed in the cup with no wrinkling of fabric and they should not bulge over top or side of the cups. Remember it is natural to have one breast bigger than the other. Always ensure that you accommodate the bigger side to avoid bulging over the cup and discomfort from the wires.

Maternity bras should always support your changing breast size. Some women change drastically in size and will require several different size bras throughout their pregnancy, others may not change at all until their milk starts to produce.
Don't forget those hormones, your rib cage will expand along with your growing uterus and your breasts becoming fuller. Please ensure that you are regularly refitted for your maternity bras (from 3-4 months of pregnancy) every 6 weeks. When buying a maternity bra ensure the bra fits on the tightest hook and add a little room in the cup as this will allow growth and ensure comfort throughout your pregnancy.
You are nearly there.....have you thought about nursing bras?
It is better to purchase your nursing bras near the end of your pregnancy. When purchasing a nursing bra, ensure the bra fits comfortably on the loosest hook (as in a normal bra fitting) to allow for change as you start losing your post baby shape but the bra will still fit comfortably. Ensure that you can slip your hand comfortably into the bra to allow for the increase in breast size once your milk arrives and also to allow room for breast pads should you need them.
Please remember that this is only a guide and it is always advisable to have a fitting to ensure the correct styles. If you have any questions, or if you would like to book a private fitting at home or attend a Celebrar event, contact us on:
